Headsets?
I have been looking through the forums and haven't found anything really written about headsets, so I had to make a thread asking about which headsets would be the most bang for your buck.
At the moment, I'm looking at a pair of Plantronics LS-1. They are supposedly really good for their price, plus the quality is supposedly very good. (15 Canadian) Another one would be the Logitech Internet Chat headsets. I have heard they aren't too great at gaming. However, they are really cheap where I can get one (8 dollars OEM) Others..? I haven't really been looking thorough enough on really good, yet cheap headsets. So I hope someone has some input towards this thread. PS- This might be in the wrong section, if so. Please move/delete my thread =x |

Depending on the quantity and quality of reviews I've read, they don't seem to be the best at doing its job. |

I've learned from experience that in a game like GW, you're going to be spending a looooooong time sitting at your pc with your headset perched on your noggin, so it had better be comfortable. Some folks don't care for the extended weight of a band across the top of the head, so they opt for the type that has the strap behind the head instead. Audio quality, both from what the mic picks up and what the earphones put out, is audibly better in sets costing $40 or more, and if other features like an in-line volume control or mic mute/sensitivity switch are included, you'll have to decide if they're worth the extra sheckles. If you can find someplace that lets you try on a few of the headsets they have for sale before buying, that helps a lot, and may change your mind from what you thought you wanted initially. So shop around a bit, and don't get in a hurry.

From what I've read, the Internat Chat headset is good for exactly that, Internet Chat. The headset is not meant to play loud, high-quality music with the best of results, but rather for chatting with. That's the only reason I can think of to use a headset in the first place. If you want loud music, turn on your speakers.
The toughest time I had with an uncomfortable headset would have to be the SOCOM headset. And in all honesty, even the Internet Chat looks like a pillow in comparison. |

Ah thanks for your inputs, I guess I'll be checking out the headsets while I pickup my copies of GW when I head to FS thursday morning.

.. does anyone know the quality of the headsets being bundled with Guild Wars?
I mean, Happy Meals come with free toys, but they're not the best in the world. |

I had this Logitech set and they were great... but my wife just got me this wireless sony set that is great too... but if you dont care about wireless, the logitech set is great... they are comfortable and had great sound...
The Logitech set >>> The Sony Set >>> The Logitech set was about $29 - not the cheapest, but great price for what you get... |

That Gaming Logitech headset's abit too expensive, but I won't put it aside. I'll just have to try some out, and see which one feels the most comfortable. However, when trying them out, do they have it on with music, etc? or are they just replicas?

I have the Sennheiser PC130, which is somewhat decent for a gaming headset.
http://www.sennheisercommunications.com/pr-pc130.html I think I got it somewhere around $30 shipped. |

Two ?
If you already have a head set from another speaking program like (voice express) will it be compatable with the game? Also I ordered a pre-order version of the game now when the 28th roles around and I go to the store will I be getting the standard or the CE or will I be given the choice then?
